Yes. To help our library users reduce phone-related distractions and stay focused during self-study, the Library has set up Cellphone Rest Areas (手机休息处) at the entrances of the 1st and 2nd floors of the University Library, as well as the 1st-floor entrance of the Philip Wong Yu-hong & Anita Leung Fung-yee Library Library.
These areas were established following a suggestion from President Xu, who also inscribed the phrase: “放手机休息,得专心研习”.
Use of the Cellphone Rest Areas (手机休息处) is entirely voluntary. They are provided as an optional facility for students who wish to temporarily place their phones out of reach during reading or study sessions. Please remember to collect your phone before leaving the Library. Please refer to the maps and photos below for the exact locations.
1. 1F of the University Library

2. 2F of the University Library

3. 1F of the Philip Wong Yu-hong & Anita Leung Fung-yee Library Library

If you have difficulty locating a Cell Phone Rest Areas (手机休息处), please feel free to ask at the service desk or speak with any library staff member. We will be happy to assist you.
