What Email notifications will I receive from the Library?

Answer

There are 3 types of email notifications that you may receive as a library user.

  1. System Notification
    • These emails are automatically sent out by the library system when you are using our services.
    • Examples:
      • REMINDER - Today is the Due Date: On the day that the material is due
      • REMINDER - Requested Item Ready: When requested books are available for picking-up
      • REMINDER - Item Overdue: When library account is going to be blocked due to overdue items
      • REMINDER - Due Date Approaching: 3 days before material is due 
      • NOTICE - Request Cancellation: Immediate confirmation when book request has been cancelled 
      • NOTICE - Payment Receipt: Immediate confirmation when the payment has been completed 
      • NOTICE - Lost Loan Invoice: Invoice letter received after the item has been declared as LOST (Loaned items will be automatically declared as LOST after 60 days for General Collection or 72 hours for Course Reserve past the due date.)
      • NOTICE - Loan Confirmation: Immediate confirmation when the material has been checked out
      • NOTICE - Due Date Update: When the due date changes
  2. Specific Action/Event Notification
    • These notifications are sent out by librarians to notify users of a specific action/event held at the library.
    • Examples:
      • 【IMPORTANT】Library Construction Notice
      • Temporary Closure of Start-up Zone Library 2nd Floor for Campus Renovation Project
      • Online Talks | Academic Writing and Academic Writing
      • 2020 Winter Book Fair 2020年冬季书展
  3. Library Monthly Newsletter
    • These notifications are sent out to all library users to let them know what is going at the library.
