How to apply for a Grammarly Premium account?

Answer

If you already have a Grammarly account with your university email, you can upgrade it to EDU account by following these steps:

  • Click the upgrade link: Grammarly EDU Upgrade.
  • You will be redirected to the SSO (Single Sign-On) authentication page. Enter your university email and password to verify your identity.
  • After the SSO authentication, enter your previous Grammarly password to Sign In to your account.
    • Please follow the instructions prompted on the screen to complete the upgrade process.
  • Once the upgrade is successful, you will see an EDU sign on the top right corner of your account dashboard.

If you do not have a Grammarly account with your university email, you can create one and upgrade it to EDU by following these steps:

  • Click the upgrade link: Grammarly EDU Upgrade.
  • You will be redirected to the SSO (Single Sign-On) authentication page. Enter your university email and password to verify your identity.
  • After the SSO authentication, you will be asked to Sign Up for your new Grammarly account. Fill in the required information, such as your name, email, and password.
    • Follow the instructions prompted on the screen to complete the account creation and upgrade process.
  • Once the upgrade is successful, you will see an EDU sign on the top right corner of your account dashboard.

Note:

  1. If you previously registered for Grammarly with email and password, you need to log out and use the SSO option to sign in again.
  2. The original email invitation method is no longer valid, and all users need to use SSO registration with their university account.
  3. Your account login information will be preserved for some time and will log in to your account automatically.
  4. Important: Due to the account limit, all edu accounts will reset periodically. If your account is downgraded to a free account, please click the upgrade link and sign in again with SSO authentication to restore your account status.
