The library and users process the requested items in the following stages:

Stage 1:  if you have found the book in our catalog but have yet to see the book at the library. You can request the book on the library website. For details, please refer to I can't find the book on the shelves.

Stage 2:  after receiving the request, the library will check its status.

  • If its status is On Loan to Somebody, it will be held for you when the item is returned. You will receive an email notification that the item can be picked up at Room 213 in the University Library.
  • If its status is Available at Main Library, library staff will locate the item within 1-3 business days.
    • Once we find the book, it will be placed on the hold shelf (Room 213 at the University Library) under your name. And you will receive a notification email telling you the book is ready for pick-up.
    • If we can't find the book, you will receive a notification email telling you the request has been canceled.

Stage 3:  after you receive the notification mail.

  • You have 3 business days to pick up the requested item after receiving a "REMINDER - Requested Item Ready" email.
  • Find the item you requested on the hold shelf in Room 213 at the University Library.
  • And borrow it to your account through the Self-Check Machine in Room 213.
  • If you requested  a DVD, please go to Ask Us to pick it up and borrow it during workday Office Hours (Mon-Fri @ 8:30 - 12:00 & 13:30 - 17:30).
