Is ILL service different from Document Delivery service?

I want to borrow a book that is not in our library collection, so I want to place a request for the library to borrow from other institutions.

However, I notice we have both Inter-Library Loan service and Document Delivery service. I don't know which one I can use to fulfill my goal.

Answer

In the Interlibrary Loan, the documents are available temporarily for the duration of the loan. In document delivery, however, copies of the articles are for permanent retention.

J Gate (Jan 15, 2018), What is Inter-Library Loan and How Does It Work?

The answer is: Yes, ILL (Inter-Library Loan) service is different from Document Delivery service.

If you want to borrow a material from an outside library, you can submit an ILL Request Form and our librarian will assist you on getting it.
